Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.
Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.
And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Wise Words: Hearing Your Own Voice

This has been a theme for the week, so straight to the point…

When you listen to the voices and opinions of others over yours, you are at such a disadvantage. Besides being a form of self betrayal, it is actually impractical. They can’t hear what your intuition is saying. They don’t feel your feelings flowing through you. They aren’t aligned with your soul’s passion and destiny. They haven’t lived your history, nor had your experiences. They can’t feel and sense your potentials like you do. They don’t truly know who you are and what you’re about. Only what you’ve expressed and even that is filtered through their own lens. They don’t know what you know. This isn’t their life to be lived. They don’t hold responsibility for you, for your life. They. Aren’t. You. It just doesn’t serve you to give your own power away.

It’s like putting on someone else’s glasses. Even if the prescription is only a little bit off your own, pretty quickly you’ll start to get a headache. You won’t see with your usual clarity, to be sure. And you just might bang into things as you try to navigate in your world.

Don’t get me wrong, sometimes it’s appropriate to ask for others’ insight, perspective or advice. But it is wise to filter it through your own discernment. Feel into it. Does it feel right to you, for you? The choice is always yours. But it is best when it is a conscious choice and not reaction or and unknowingly defaulting into patterns and programming.

True freedom is hearing your own voice, trusting yourself and making you and your creations a priority. Not in a selfish way, but in a self-full way. Not in a narcissistic way, but in a self love and self compassion way. The world is helped when you take care of you. Otherwise, others are having to clean up your messes. And I’m quite certain when you look around your world and the world at large, you can see examples of that everywhere. What a waste of time, energy, resources, creativity and passion. Among so many other beautiful things, personal sovereignty is so efficient in those ways. And isn’t it great that that is our natural way of being!
